This whole "about me section" of this blog reminds me of the first day of school activity when I always need to share information about myself. So, I will try to make this somewhat interesting.
About me:
My name is Christina Arniotes and I am 17. I have two brothers one named Alex (in the picture with me) and the other is Andrew. I'm a "grasian" as my friends call me, aka a Greek- Asian. To be more specific my mom is Chinese and my dad is Greek. Italians often get the reputation that the families eat huge meals, well whoever says that has never been to one of my family functions. Living in a family of foodies definitely caused some childhood chubiness for me. However, I learn to live with the cards I am dealt. I try to exercise and eat healthy as much as possible. I'm not one of those teenagers who can eat whatever and somehow remain a toothpick. Fun fact about me: If I could eat pancakes for every meal every day I probably would....
Reason for the Blog:
Starting up my junior year in high school was a little bit overwhelming. Suddenly reality hit, I had to start studying for my SAT and I went from reading a Self Magazine in my free time to reading a 378 Best College book – I still do not understand why it is 378, what happened to normal numbers like 350. Originally I wanted to major in Communications and do something with Media. But, I never felt this burning passion to be in the field. I was concerned that I would not live up to the high standards set by both my brothers. I had one brother born a business man and my other brother decided to do pre-med. They were never so indecisive of their futures, but I was. Then it clicked I realized the only fulfilling career in my future would be one with food.
I thought the blog would be a good way for myself to organize my recipes and health ideas. I do not have the money to spend on special health ingredients. I usually just try to find some items in the pantry that aren't unhealthy; which is sometimes a struggle. But, I have learned over time that there are plenty of items that are rather affordable and healthy.
Dedication:
I want to thank my family for always supporting my odd health habits. Especially my mom who is no longer offended when i opt not to eat the dinner she made me so that I can make some other dish. My family and friends support me so much and I could not be more thankful.
I also appreciate every view this blog and/or my instagram receives. The health and fitness community is an amazing place with really wonderful people and I'm excited to be a part of it.

2014 Update:
So much has happened over the past year. I learned so many things in a meer 12 months. I'm always learning what works best for my body: low carbs, regulated macros, low fat and so many other forms of diet, but through trial and error I have found that eating balanced is the most important. I been keeping track of my macro nutrients and been eating much more than I used to. I have struggled with yo-yo dieting and eating problems since middle school and years later, here I am, finally feeling healthy and in control.
I can not believe that I am entering my senior year of high school. It is pretty weird to be able to drive where ever I would like. However, my license is making me go broke, since I always want to stop at a grocery store after work and buy different ingredients and foods. Applying to colleges is starting to get stressful, therefore I am sorry if my blog posts become a little flat/ thin.
I really hope this blog keeps flourishing and I can write a 2015 Update that actually gets read by many of my followers.
